How do I log my first trade in TradeMetrix?
Tap the "+ Add Trade" button on the main screen. Enter your trade details including symbol, entry/exit prices, position size, and date/time. You can also add screenshots of your charts and trade notes for better analysis. For quick entry, use the voice-to-text feature to dictate your trade details.
What's the difference between manual and API trade entry?
Manual entry: You input trade details by hand, giving you complete control and the ability to add detailed notes and screenshots.

API entry: TradeMetrix automatically syncs with your broker (ThinkorSwim, WeBull) to import trade data. This saves time but provides less customization for journaling details.
How do I set up my first trading journal entry?
After adding a trade, tap "Add Journal Entry" to document your strategy, emotions, and market conditions. Include chart screenshots by tapping the camera icon. Rate your emotional state (1-10) and add tags like "breakout," "earnings play," or "scalp" for better organization and analysis.
Can I import trades from my existing broker?
Yes! TradeMetrix supports API integration with major brokers including ThinkorSwim and WeBull. Go to Settings > Broker Integration and follow the setup instructions. For other brokers, you can import CSV files or use manual entry.

How do I upgrade or downgrade my subscription?
Go to the App Store on your device, tap your profile picture, select "Subscriptions", find TradeMetrix, and choose your preferred plan. Changes take effect immediately for upgrades, or at the end of your billing cycle for downgrades.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime through the App Store: Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > TradeMetrix > Cancel Subscription. You'll retain premium features until the end of your current billing period, then your account will revert to the free tier.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store's refund policy. You can request a refund within 14 days of purchase. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and select your TradeMetrix purchase to request a refund.

How accurate are the P&L calculations?
TradeMetrix calculates P&L using precise formulas that account for position size, entry/exit prices, and commissions. For options trades, we use advanced pricing models. Real-time calculations update automatically when connected to broker APIs. Manual entries depend on the accuracy of your input data.
Can I track options trades and complex strategies?
Yes! TradeMetrix supports single options, spreads, straddles, strangles, and other complex strategies. For multi-leg strategies, add each leg separately or use our "Strategy Builder" to group related positions. The app calculates accurate Greeks and profit/loss curves for options positions.
How do I use the economic calendar feature?
The economic calendar (Pro feature) shows upcoming market-moving events with impact ratings. Tap any event for details and historical context. Use it to avoid trading during high-impact news or to plan event-based strategies. The calendar integrates with your journal to track performance around news events.
How do I export my trading data?
Pro subscribers can export data in CSV or PDF format. Go to Analytics > Export Data, select your date range and format. CSV files include all trade details for tax preparation or external analysis. PDF reports provide formatted summaries perfect for sharing with mentors or tax professionals.

🔧 Technical Issues

My broker API isn't syncing properly. What should I do?
First, check your broker's API status and ensure your credentials are correct. Go to Settings > Broker Integration > Reconnect. Make sure your broker account has API access enabled. If issues persist, try logging out and back into TradeMetrix. API sync may be delayed during market hours due to high volume.
The app is running slowly or crashing. How can I fix this?
Try these steps in order:
1. Force close and restart the app
2. Restart your device
3. Ensure you have the latest iOS version
4. Update TradeMetrix in the App Store
5. Free up device storage (need 1GB+ available)
If problems continue, the issue may be server-side and should resolve shortly.
My charts aren't displaying correctly. What's wrong?
Chart display issues are often related to data connectivity. Check your internet connection and try refreshing the chart. For real-time data, ensure your subscription includes live data feeds. Some chart types require specific subscription tiers - upgrade to Pro for advanced chart features and indicators.
How do I backup and restore my trading data?
Your data is automatically backed up to iCloud if enabled in your device settings. To restore on a new device, sign in with the same Apple ID and iCloud will sync your data. For manual backups, use the export feature (Pro) to save CSV files to your preferred cloud storage service.
