Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
How do I scan my first document?
+
Open HealthClarity and tap the "Scan Document" button. Point your camera at the medical document and tap the capture button. Make sure the document is well-lit and all text is visible. The app will automatically detect the document edges and process it within seconds.
What types of medical documents can I upload?
+
HealthClarity supports lab results, doctor's notes, prescription information, discharge summaries, radiology reports, pathology reports, and most other text-based medical documents. For best results, ensure documents are clearly printed and not handwritten.
Is my health information secure?
+
Yes, absolutely. HealthClarity is HIPAA compliant and uses bank-level encryption to protect your health information. All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We never share your personal health information with third parties without your explicit consent.
How accurate is the medical translation?
+
Our AI achieves 95%+ accuracy in translating medical terminology to plain English. However, this is meant to supplement, not replace, conversations with your healthcare provider. Always consult your doctor for medical interpretation and advice.
Using the App
How do I view my processed documents?
+
Tap the "My Documents" tab to see all your processed medical documents. Each document shows the original scan alongside the simplified translation. You can search, filter by date, and organize documents into folders for easy access.
Can I share documents with my doctor?
+
Yes! You can export both the original document and the simplified translation as PDFs. Use the share button to email them to your healthcare provider or save to your Files app for easy access during appointments.
What if the scan quality is poor?
+
If the initial scan quality is poor, try rescanning in better lighting conditions. Ensure the document is flat and all text is clearly visible. You can also manually adjust the document corners before processing. For consistently poor results, try cleaning your camera lens.
How do I delete documents?
+
In the "My Documents" section, swipe left on any document to reveal the delete option. You can also tap "Edit" to select multiple documents for batch deletion. Deleted documents are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
Subscriptions & Billing
What's included in the free plan?
+
The free plan includes 3 document scans per month, basic medical translation, secure document storage, and access to our support resources. Perfect for occasional use and trying out HealthClarity's core features.
How do I upgrade to Premium?
+
Tap "Upgrade" in the app or go to Settings > Subscription. Choose between Premium ($4.99/month for 50 scans) or Unlimited ($99.99/year for unlimited scans). All subscriptions are managed through the App Store and can be cancelled anytime.
How do I cancel my subscription?
+
Go to iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > HealthClarity > Cancel Subscription. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. You'll retain access to premium features until then.
Can I get a refund?
+
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for all premium subscriptions. Contact Apple Support for refund requests, as all payments are processed through the App Store. Refunds are subject to Apple's standard refund policies.
How do I restore purchases?
+
If you've reinstalled the app or switched devices, go to Settings > Restore Purchases. This will restore your subscription status if you're logged into the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Technical Issues
The app crashes when I try to scan
+
First, make sure you're running the latest version of HealthClarity from the App Store. Restart the app and ensure you've granted camera permissions in Settings > Privacy > Camera > HealthClarity. If crashes persist, restart your device and contact support.
My documents aren't processing
+
Processing requires an internet connection. Check your WiFi or cellular connection and try again. If you have a stable connection but documents still won't process, the scan quality may be too poor. Try rescanning with better lighting.
I can't log into my account
+
Double-check your email and password. If you've forgotten your password, tap "Forgot Password" on the login screen to reset it. Make sure you're entering the email address exactly as you registered it, including any periods or special characters.
How do I reset my password?
+
On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password" and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link via email within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if you don't see it in your inbox.
Privacy & Security
How is my data protected?
+
🔒 Enterprise-Grade Security
HealthClarity uses AES-256 encryption (the same standard used by banks) to protect your health information. All data is encrypted both when stored on our servers and when transmitted between your device and our systems.
