This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the AlbaRide mobile application ("AlbaRide" or "the App"). By using AlbaRide, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Name
- Phone number (optional, for messaging)
- Profile photo (optional)
- Date of account creation
Verification Information
For driver verification, we collect:
- Government-issued ID (driver's license or passport)
- Driver's license information
- Vehicle registration details
Important: Verification documents are processed securely and used solely for identity confirmation. We do not share this information with third parties.
Ride Information
To provide rideshare services, we collect:
- Ride origin and destination locations
- Ride dates and times
- Number of passengers
- Cost-sharing amounts
- Ride preferences (e.g., women-only)
Location Data
AlbaRide uses location data to help you find nearby rides and set pickup/dropoff points. We access your location only when you actively use location-based features. We do not track your location in the background or during rides. You can use AlbaRide without granting location access by entering addresses manually.
Communication Data
Messages exchanged through AlbaRide's in-app messaging system are stored to facilitate coordination between drivers and passengers. We do not read your messages unless required by law or to investigate reported safety issues.
Usage Analytics
We collect anonymized usage data to improve the app:
- Features used and frequency
- App crashes and error reports
- Session duration
- Device type and operating system version
This data is aggregated and anonymized—it cannot be used to identify you personally.

Push notifications can be disabled in your device settings at any time.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
Firebase (Google)
We use Firebase for user authentication and cloud data storage. Firebase is operated by Google and is subject to Google's privacy practices.
Apple App Store / Google Play Store
Apple and Google handle subscription payments through their respective app stores. We receive transaction receipts to verify purchases but never access your credit card information.
Mapping Services
We use mapping services to display routes and calculate distances. These services may receive location data you enter but do not receive your personal account information.
What We Do NOT Do
- We do NOT sell your personal data to anyone—ever
- We do NOT share your data with advertisers
- We do NOT track your location continuously or in the background
- We do NOT store your credit card information
- We do NOT share your verification documents with third parties
- We do NOT use your data for purposes beyond those stated in this policy
Data Sharing With Other Users
To facilitate ridesharing, certain information is shared with other AlbaRide users:
- Profile information: Name, profile photo, and ratings are visible to other users
- Ride details: When you offer or request a ride, relevant details are visible to potential matches
- Verification status: Your verified badge status is visible to other users
- Messages: Messages you send are visible to the recipient
We never share your email address, phone number, or government ID with other users.
Data Retention
- Account data: Retained while your account is active
- Ride history: Retained while your account is active
- Messages: Retained for 1 year, then deleted
- Verification documents: Retained while you are a verified driver
- Analytics data: Anonymized after 90 days
When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: Request a copy of all data we store about you
- Correction: Update incorrect information in the app
- Deletion: Request complete deletion of your account and data
- Export: Request a downloadable copy of your ride history and profile data
- Opt-out: Disable notifications and analytics in Settings

Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Encrypted database storage via Firebase
- Secure authentication protocols
- Regular security reviews
- Access controls limiting employee data access
Children's Privacy
AlbaRide is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately at support@sketchmyapp.com and we will delete the account.
CCPA & GDPR Compliance
AlbaRide complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
California Residents (CCPA)
You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt-out of data sales. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, email support@sketchmyapp.com.
European Users (GDPR)
You have rights to access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and objection to processing. Our lawful basis for processing is consent (account creation) and contract performance (providing services). To exercise your rights, email support@sketchmyapp.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of AlbaRide after changes constitutes acceptance.
