- •Receipt Validation: Apple provides us with subscription status; we do not receive your payment details

3. Data Storage & Security
Firebase Firestore Cloud Storage
Your data is stored securely using Firebase Firestore, Google's cloud-hosted NoSQL database. Firestore provides automatic scaling, high performance, and built-in security features.
Industry-Standard Encryption
We implement multiple layers of encryption to protect your data:
- •In Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses TLS 1.3 encryption
- •At Rest: Data stored in Firebase is encrypted using AES-256 encryption
- •Password Protection: Passwords are hashed and salted using industry-standard algorithms
Secure Authentication via Firebase Auth
We use Firebase Authentication for secure user login, which includes built-in security features like rate limiting, suspicious activity detection, and multi-factor authentication support.
Receipt Validation via Apple
Subscription purchases are validated directly with Apple's servers. We never see your payment information. Apple processes all payments and provides us only with subscription status.

Apple In-App Purchases

5. Your Rights

GDPR and CCPA Compliance
We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents. You have additional rights under these regulations.

6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:

- •Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our active systems within 30 days
- •Legal Requirements: We may retain certain transaction records for up to 7 years as required by law
- •Aggregated Data: We may retain anonymized, aggregated data indefinitely for analytics and product improvement
7. Children's Privacy
SkillBits is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@skillbits.com and we will delete it immediately.
Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring their children's use of the app and ensuring compliance with age restrictions.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors.
When we make material changes, we will notify you by:

- •Displaying a prominent notice in the app

Continued use of SkillBits after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you disagree with changes, you may delete your account before they take effect.
