By using Proficiency Path, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

Parent Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:

- Authentication credentials (securely hashed)
Student Profile Information
To provide personalized educational assessments, we collect:
- Student first name or nickname
- Grade level (6th, 7th, or 8th)
- Selected subjects for assessment
Important: We collect only the minimum information needed to personalize assessments. We do not collect student last names, school names, addresses, or any other identifying information beyond what is listed above.
Assessment and Learning Data
When students use the app, we collect:
- Quiz answers and scores
- Identified skill gaps and strengths
- Practice resource completion status
- Daily drill results (Premium users)
- Assessment history and progress over time
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to Proficiency Path Premium, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but never have access to your payment card details, billing address, or other financial information.
Usage Analytics
We collect anonymized usage data to improve the app:
- Features used and frequency
- App crashes and error reports
- Session duration
- Device type and operating system version
This data is aggregated and anonymized — it cannot be used to identify you or your child personally.

Your data is stored securely using Firebase, a Google Cloud service with industry-leading security practices. We implement:

- Secure authentication with Firebase Auth

- Access controls limiting data access to essential personnel only
Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your child's educational data. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:

Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data and all student data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Children's Privacy
Proficiency Path is designed to be used by parents on behalf of their middle school children. Student profiles are created and managed by the parent account holder. We collect only the minimum student information needed to provide personalized assessments (first name, grade level, and assessment results). We do not collect contact information directly from children, and children do not create their own accounts.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of Proficiency Path after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
