This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the SnipStitch mobile application ("SnipStitch" or "the App"). By using SnipStitch, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Authentication credentials (securely hashed)

Media Content

To provide video editing and project features, we collect:

  • Photos and videos you capture within the app
  • Media you import from your device library
  • Audio clips and music tracks added to your projects
  • Exported video files created through the app

Important: Your media is stored securely and used solely to power your editing projects. We do not analyze, share, or sell your personal media to third parties.

Project Data

When you create and edit projects, we collect:

  • Project timelines and clip arrangements
  • Applied effects, filters, and transitions
  • Text overlays and captions
  • Project metadata (title, creation date, duration)

Subscription Information

If you subscribe to SnipStitch Premium, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but never have access to your payment card details, billing address, or other financial information.

Usage Analytics

We collect anonymized usage data to improve the app:

  • Features used and frequency
  • App crashes and error reports
  • Session duration
  • Device type and operating system version

This data is aggregated and anonymized—it cannot be used to identify you personally.

  • Store and sync your editing projects across sessions
  • Apply effects, filters, and transitions to your clips
  • Stitch clips together into finished videos

Data Storage and Security

Your data—including account information and project files—is stored securely using Firebase, a Google Cloud service with industry-leading security practices. We implement:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
  • Secure authentication with Firebase Auth
  • Firebase Storage for media files with per-user access controls
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Access controls limiting data access to essential personnel only

Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or media. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: Firebase (data and media storage), Apple (payments) - bound by strict data protection agreements
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government request
  • Safety: To protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correct: Update inaccurate information in your profile

Data Retention

We retain your personal data and project files for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data and stored media within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention).

SnipStitch is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of SnipStitch after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
